In Texas, an air conditioner is essential for comfortable living

The right air conditioning system keeps you cool and saves you money.

Air conditioning in East Texas is a necessity, but not just any old AC unit will do the trick. Where we live, people know that their comfort, health, and energy budget rely on a well-functioning, dependable air conditioning unit. Your typical air conditioner will battle the Texas heat 8 months out of the year, so it’s important to make the right choice. Delta T knows how to make sure your central air conditioning unit is up to the task.

It starts with picking the right air conditioner for your home

If your system is too big, it will cost more money to run than necessary.

If your system is too small, it won’t keep your home at a comfortable temperature and will struggle to keep you happy.

Choosing an optimal sized unit for your home is important, and Delta T is ready to help you improve your quality of life!

How does your A/C work?

Your air conditioning unit extracts heat and humidity from your indoor air, and then replaces it with cold dry air through a duct system. There are four primary components that make air conditioning possible: a compressor, the evaporator coil, a condenser, and the thermostat.

The Compressor

The compressor pushes and pulls refrigerant, or “Freon”, through a coolant loop made up of copper tubing through an evaporator and condensing unit. During the journey, the refrigerant is compressed from gas to fluid in a continuous cycle.

The Evaporator Coil

The evaporator coil absorbs heat as air is moved across the coil by a motor connected to a blower wheel. As cool air meets warm air, condensation forms on the evaporator coil and forms condensation which drops into condensate pan and outside through a condensation drain. The evaporator uses this process over and over, removing humidity and cooling your air in an ongoing cycle.

The Condenser Coil

Outside of your home, the counterpart to the evaporator coil is the condenser coil. As air is returned back to your outdoor unit, it is carrying the excess heat it picked up in the evaporator coil. The condenser coil releases the excessive heat through heat transfer fins. And the refrigerant starts its journey all over again.

Modern day air conditioning systems are fully wi-fi enabled.

The Thermostat

The thermostat monitors the current indoor air temperature and regulates the flow of Freon as needed to maintain a desired temperature. Today’s thermostats can be set to automatically turn your AC system off or on based on a temperature, controlled remotely via the internet, or set to different regulating temperatures based on the time of day.
